Lauren Pincus was an invited speaker at the Synchrotron Environmental Science 2025 Conference held from September 29th - October 1st, 2025 at Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, NY. She spoke on "Using Synchrotron Microscopy and Spectroscopy to Examine the Effect of Environmental Systems Conditions on Plastic Degradation Pathway"

Lauren Pincus and PhD student Brian Beukema spent five days at the Submicron Resolution X-ray Spectroscopy (SRX) Beamline at National Synchrotron Light Source II (NSLS II) analyzing the environmental degradation of microplastics. This was Brian's second trip to the SRX beamline in 2025.

Lauren Pincus was awarded an Early Career Postdoctoral Faculty Bridge Grant from the American Chemical Society (ACS) Sustainable Futures Initiative Grant Program.
Funding will be provided for one postdoctoral researcher to work on: "Fueling a circular economy: selective recovery of endangered elements from photovoltaic waste using ion-imprinted biopolymers."
